Be a Blessing...

At Good Shepherd Church, we believe the path to Jesus is loving God, loving people and serving others. Here are some simple ways to do just that within our own community. Follow on Facebook, pray for the ministries, reach out and lend a helping hand when able...We don't want to sit idly by - we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world around us!

***NOTE: These are some of our favorite ways to help our neighbors, but they are independent entities and are in no way affiliated with our church or denomination.

Started as a personal quest to find a family to bless for the 2025 Christmas holiday, our own Pastor Mike Tifft and his wife Martha created this page in the hope of helping one single family stress less about the holiday. What they didn't anticipate was the overwhelming need within our small community. They also were overwhelmed by the great number of people that wanted to help others in need! As a result, this page helped our community to rally and bless dozens of families last Christmas, and it continues to bless and support families today. "Jackie's Attic is a non-profit community thrift store set in the downtown area of Virginia Minnesota. Owned and operated by Daniel and Priscilla Triestman and family, Jackie's Attic is a gem in this community, with a "set your own price" format to accommodate EVERYONE. Customers are encouraged to pay whatever is appropriate to their needs and budget - a HUGE blessing to those who may be in a season of struggle. Daniel uses the store's donations to help build relationships within our community - everything he sells or gives away he does in the name of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...and he is happy to do it!

The thrift store relies heavily on donations and volunteerism: good-quality clothing, furniture, household, etc., as well as monetary donations are always welcome! Items like towels, silverware, bedding, etc. are especially appreciated as they are forerunners in getting people who are starting over set up for success.

All profits from "Jackie's Attic" are used to fund the charity "Someone Ought To." Visit www.jackiesattic.com for more information, stop by the store with a bag of items to donate, or click the link below to donate money. You can find them on Facebook as well - this is definitely a mission you want to be a part of!

ALWAYS LOOKING FOR DONATIONS!

A sweet little porch with a very BIG heart!

As the flyer says, The Giving Porch is a local family that hosts FREE seasonal shopping events where local families can choose the things they need - and the things they love so no child feels left out.

They welcome our new or gently-used left-overs! It's as simple as that! What a thrill to know that NOTHING in our household is wasted...there is always a need. So the next time you are cleaning out your closets, PLEASE KEEP THEM IN MIND! An easy and GENIUS way to take care of our local children!
